Summary

The GeoRecruiter utilizes two types of information from you. First, our consultants will work with you to import your student data. Second, you will define the types of students you would like to recruit.

Once this information is entered, you can start using the GeoRecruiter to explore your student data from a unique geographic perspective.

Of course, the primary goal of the GeoRecruiter is to assist you in finding new high probability geograpihc areas and addresses for recruitment. You can test an unlimited number of recruitment scenarios until you have the set of target addresses you want. Then, use the GeoRecruiter download tools to save the target addresses to your local computer, where they can be used to augment your existing recruitment efforts.

Interactive Mapping

The GeoRecruiter features interactive mapping, allowing you to explore your student data geographically. You can switch the map view to virtually any location you desire. Change the map view to a town, a zip code, an address, a high school boundary, or an entire state.

Data Exploration

Once your student data are loaded into the GeoRecruiter they are available for you to explore. Each student record shows up as an individual point on the map display. You can color-code the student points by categories, such as the student's graduation year, high school, financial aid amounts, etc.

In addition, you can click the mouse pointer on any student point in the map to see all the associated data for that student record.

Other information, such as neighborhood income levels, ethnicity, housing information, etc. are all at your fingertips.

Visual Representations

The GeoRecruiter's visual display engine helps you to spot geographic patterns in your student data. For example, in the image to the left, you can see the distribution of this university's applcants accross a wide geographic area. In this example the number of applicants is shown using high school boundaries. High schools which contributed a larger number of applicants are shown in red and magenta colors, while high schools with a smaller number of applicants are shown in green.

This type of "geographic intelligence" can help you to spot gaps in your applicant pool and help broaden the geographic scope of your recruitment efforts.

Charting

The GeoRecruiter includes a complete Charting and Graphing module. There are times when charts and graphs are the best way to visualize your data. You can see how your student body is divided among cities. You can compare mutiple years of enrollment data. Studens can also be grouped into 66 unique lifestyle segments defined by The Nielsen Company's PRIZM segmentation system.

Like everything in the GeoRecruiter, charts are interactive. This allows you to retrieve more specific information about the chart with the click of a mouse.

Profiling

The GeoRecruiter allows you to develop student profiles by selecting groups of students that meet certain criteria, such as GPA, ACT scores, and EFC values. These "profiles" are then used by the GeoRecruiter to find high school students that meet similar criteria - thereby providing you with high-probability recruiting targets that fit your desired student profile.

Lifestyle Profiling using Nielsen PRIZM Segmentation

One of the most unique (and valuable) features of the GeoRecruiter is it's ability to group all of your students into unique lifestyle segments using the PRIZM segmentation system developed by The Nielsen Company. PRIZM is the industry-leading consumer segmentation system used by both public institutions and leading Fortune 500 companies. PRIZM combines demographic, consumer behavior, and geographic data to help marketers identify, understand and target their customers and prospects.

This information can help you understand the characteristics of your current students, and then use that information to target similar areas and specific addresses for recruiting.

Recruitment Targeting

The GeoRecruiter uses the profiling and lifestyle information described above to search a nationwide database for zip codes, high schools, and even specific addresses that represent high probability areas for recruitment. These focus areas help make your recruiting more efficient and productive.

Data Downloads

The recruiting target data (zip codes, high schools, and addresses) can be downloaded to your institution's computers for use in your existing recruitment processes.
