Technology
The ArcIMS application is customized with Active
Server Pages (ASP) using the ActiveX Connector. ASP applications
are interpreted on the server generating a browser-friendly pagenothing
is downloaded to the client. Since CrimeGIS was developed using
ASP, it is a lightweight solution to broadcasting crime information
to the Internet.
ArcIMS sets the standard for fast and powerful
Internet mapping and geographic information (GIS) tools. ArcIMS
is built on cutting edge technology from ESRI—the first
company to launch GIS on the World Wide Web.
